What is dharma ? Dharma is not a religion but it is the law of Nature!
Now the question comes ! What is Nature?
Nature is the world which works like womb with its own set of rules. Let us talk about a small corporate firm. In the small corporate firms, the set of rules are formed by the CEO. The set of rules work like a firm logic and the staff cannot cross those rules and if they break the rules, they will go through the defined punishments. The CEO writes the logic of the rules in such a way that, you are required to work for your sustenance, for your own growth which also helps for the growth of the company. The rules and logic is watched by several other executives always.
In this case, your company is a field in which you work. In the same way, the world is a field in which you are born. Just like the company rules, the world has its own set of rules. Now you may ask the question who is the CEO ? My answer would not be religious to you. My answer would again be a question - i.e. what is that saying you that "killing another man is bad"? Do not say God ! or whatever your answers. The thing that is saying you that "killing a man is bad" that is what is the governance system of the CEO. You can say in a way your consciousness is not agreeing somehow to kill another man. In the same way, world which is like your company, as a field has its own consciousness.
Now let us address the question of what is consciousness?
The logic of rules written by the CEO (in the above company), is not a dead one! Because the logic works every second through out the company. It means it very much LIVELY AND ACTIVE. It has life. But it does not have a body like us or like a chair or a stone. But it has life and it also has a force with it. The will of the CEO works like a force through out the company. That force is nothing but Shakti, the pure energy. It will further get drilled down to act towards you based on your actions. If you perform well, that system will award you, if you get disharmony with the governance system of the company, you will be punished. The same pure energy sometimes, it is being good to you and sometimes it is punishing you (based upon your actions).
If anyone does not follow the set of rules, the will of the CEO through the logic will have its punishments. So in a way, you can say the life force of the CEO is working through the logic of the laws of the company every second.
That logic and set rules are nothing but the Dharma in the case of the world. The world is like the company. Now logically the CEO is the source of the governance system. The governance system with laws, rules and logic along with energy is Nature.
The Nature and its force works through its laws. If you want to do any mistake in your company your consciousness always says you that "doing that is bad, you will be punished". It works in all employees. Meaning, the consciousness of all employees are integrated with the consciousness of the company. It means, the consciousness of all employees is also integrated with CEO. It also means that the consciousnesses of each and every employee is also integrated with the LAWS OF LOGIC created by the CEO. Due to that integration, that laws of logic always hints you "not to commit mistakes". CEO is the creator of the Nature and its forces. After creation, he would not step into the daily operations as the game is left to the employees who are required to work and perform. The CEO remains in generating the energy for his creation and remains in the back seat watching all the play. The religions call the CEO as God.
The governance system is nothing but CEO's will and energy with laws and logic of the play. You may do some mistakes in the company by blinding the eyes of all and also all CC cameras. But as the governance system of Nature and CEO, as they are very much like an unseen men working without body, the governance system will one day or the other catch you and punish you. You can never escape it. Your company, as it is a small domain it can have set of rules written in a book which can be followed by all.

But as, the dharma of the Nature is more integrated with our consciousness, we know that killing another man is wrong. It cannot be accepted by our consciousness.
All religions tried to capture these set of rules in various holy books for the direction of the man. But can anyone remember the set of rules that are described in the holy books when the situation comes in life? Due to his TRAITS, he can never recall the holy books. How much ever he would be religious, when the situation arises, the man gets angry and that anger rules all the religious texts and he just happens to listen to his traits and follow them. That is how he commits the mistakes. During the process of commuting mistakes man looses his consciousness. After committing mistake, when he comes to normal state of consciousness he may think that he did wrong. But by then the mistake would happen and the punishment for that would be on the way to him.
So living in harmony with the laws of your company is essential for you for your survival. In the same way, every one of us is required to live in harmony with the laws of Nature for our survival. Else we will be thrown out of its system.
Now the question comes what is Nature. Nature is well defined in the Sanatan Dharma as Prapanch. In Sanskrit Language Pra-Panch means "The objective world that can be perceived by the five active senses and active senses. Finally all those drill down to the five objective things in the world which are the five elements. So, that which has the five elements is Nature. Nature is pure energy that does not any body but as a conscious energy of the CEO, it works all through the company. Just like your company provides you the basic infrastructure such as electricity, chairs, computers, air condition etc, in the same way the Nature provides the basic infrastructure to the world with five elements. Just as you perform in your company, you are also required perform in the world being in harmony with the laws of Nature.
Now the question comes what is Nature. Nature is well defined in the Sanatan Dharma as Prapanch. Though we have several religious books, man is not able to be conscious of them to remember and well behave to be in harmony with Nature and its laws. So what is the solution for him? What is the way for him?
Imagine the DHARMA (the laws and logic of Nature) is like a software that can be loaded in to you, then you will always be in harmony with Nature. But is there something like that? Can it work? How can we get it? What efforts are required to get it and so on are the questions.
Yes, it is possible to load the software of Dharma into you! But for that also some basic and minimum efforts that need to be put. Religions teach basics of the dharma which need to be followed by all and at the same time, not sticking to the religions, every one needs to go beyond the religions. All holy texts could give the directions to the man to the best extent which he has to follow and go beyond them to understand the Nature and its governance system. That is when he is can be ready to get the dharma loaded into his own system like a software.
